The mechanism

Which pistols does it fit?
More than 50 railed pistol models: Glock, SIG Sauer P320, Smith & Wesson M&P, Springfield XD, Ruger, Colt 1911, Beretta, Taurus, Walther, CZ, HK and P80. What decides the fit is the accessory rail, not the brand.
Does my pistol need an accessory rail?
Yes. The holster anchors to the rail under the frame, in front of the trigger guard. If the frame is smooth and rounded there, this holster is not for that pistol.
How do I confirm the fit before ordering?
Check that your pistol has an integral accessory rail and search it in the list above. Not sure? Email support@ussavage.com with the make, model, generation and any mounted accessory.

Compacts, full-size, subcompacts?
Compacts and full-size service pistols are the core of the list because they carry a rail. Many micro and slim single-stack pistols have no rail, and those do not fit.
Can one holster work with more than one pistol?
Yes, that is the reason to choose it. Every pistol you own with a compatible rail uses the same holster. Re-check the retention each time you switch.
Will aftermarket parts change the fit?
Anything that changes the frame or the rail (an aftermarket frame, a rail cover) can. Slide changes such as optic cuts and porting normally do not.
Can I holster with a weapon light on?
Yes. The adapter and a rail-mounted light or laser share the rail, so you carry with the light installed and never take it off to holster.
Red dot, tall sights, threaded barrel or compensator?
All fine. The holster attaches at the rail, so anything mounted on the slide or the muzzle does not affect the fit.

How does the retention work?
Adjustable tension. The adapter engages the rail and you set the tension so the pistol releases with a straight, consistent pull. No button or lever to disengage.

How tight should I set it?
Tight enough that the pistol seats with a positive click and does not shift when you move. Test it unloaded: turn the holster upside down and shake it. Nothing should move.
Is it Level I, II or III?
It is not rated to a duty retention level. It gives adjustable passive retention at the rail. If your duty policy requires a certified level, use a holster rated for it.
Does it cover the trigger?
Yes. The body fully encloses the trigger guard when the pistol is seated. Check it on your own pistol, unloaded, before you carry.
Should the pistol be unloaded while I set it up?
Always. Every fitting, tension change, hand change and shake test is done with the pistol completely unloaded and pointed in a safe direction.
Right hand or left hand?
Both. The same unit is set for right- or left-hand carry, so one holster can move between shooters in the same house.
Is it OWB or IWB?
OWB, worn on the belt with the included paddle. Built for the range, training and open carry, not for deep concealment.
What comes in the box?
The holster, the belt paddle, the rail-lock adapter and the mounting hardware. No pistol, light or laser: those in the photos are for reference.
How do I clean it?
A damp cloth and mild soap, then let it dry. Keep the inside free of grit: that is what marks the finish of a pistol.
